Welcome!

Thanks for visiting my webpage. I'm an applied linguist and I currently hold a faculty appointment in the department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona. I'm also part of the Technology Enhanced Language Learning (TELL) cluster at the U of A, and a regular faculty member in the PhD program in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT). Before coming to the U of A, I was Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics at Northern Arizona University.

I completed my PhD in applied linguistics at the Pennsylvania State University. I have an MA in TESL from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a BA in Spanish-English Technical, Scientific, and Literary Translation from IES en Lenguas Vivas (Buenos Aires, Argentina).

My research and teaching interests are in L2 pragmatics; language learning in study abroad; interaction analysis; second language acquisition and pedagogy; corpus-based discourse analysis; qualitative interviews; and usage-based approaches to second language development.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my family hiking, discovering new places, or playing in the pool.
